About NATE OGUN

The Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE), Ogun State Branch, is one of the notable branches of Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) in Nigeria, an association under the umbrella of Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

The Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) is a professional body of practical Engineers established in 1976 but incorporated in 1988 with the aim of fostering self-reliant Technological development of Nigeria. The Association's Mandate amongst others is to Register Graduates of Polytechnic, Colleges of Technology, Monotechnics and Universities in Nigeria as well as B. Ed Tech in Technical Education.

NATE, Ogun State Branch, is established to promote the ideals and professional interests of engineering technologists in Ogun State. The journey of the branch began with its maiden meeting, which was held on 12th June at the Engineering Conference Hall, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). This historic gathering marked the foundation of the branch and the beginning of a collective vision to build a strong and vibrant association in the state.

Prior to the formal inauguration of the branch, Tgst. Sunday Iyiola Olukayode was made and sworn in as the pioneer Chairman through ratification in 2012, in the presence of Engr. Tech. I. O. Omopariola, who was then the National Vice President, Southwest Zone. This marked the first official leadership structure of the branch and set the stage for its formal establishment.

The branch was formally inaugurated on 28th September, 2013 at Banana Resort, Ajebo Road, Abeokuta. This inauguration was a major milestone in the history of the Ogun State Branch, as it officially brought the branch into the fold of NATE's organized structure nationwide.

After the inauguration, meetings of the branch were moved to Peace Foundation Group of Schools, Agbeloba, a venue generously made available by the Patron of the Branch, Alhaji M. Ola Yusuf. This support greatly assisted the young branch in maintaining regular activities and fostering unity among members. Subsequently, the meeting venue was later shifted to the Federal Ministry of Works, Mechanical/Electrical Training School, Agbeloba, where meetings are still being held till today.

Following his tenure, Tgst. Sunday Iyiola Olukayode handed over to Tgst. Fatade Rasheed Oyeniyi, who was duly elected in October 2018 as the next Chairman of the branch. Tgst. Fatade Rasheed Oyeniyi successfully piloted the affairs of the branch from October 2018 to February 2025, during which he contributed meaningfully to the growth and stability of the association in Ogun State.

In February 2025, he handed over to the third elected Chairman of the branch, Engr. Tech. Ogunwemimo Kolawole Amos, who has since continued to steer the affairs of the branch with dedication and commitment up to the present time.

Today, the NATE Ogun State Branch stands as a symbol of unity, professionalism, and progressive leadership. From its maiden meeting at FUNAAB to its formal inauguration and successive leadership transitions, the branch continues to uphold the vision and objectives of NATE in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
